Say NO! to New Year's Resolutions - Part Two

Hilary McNevin

Staying on our All Year Resolutions, here are some more ideas to include in your 2025 PR plans:

Focus on Sustainability and Green Initiatives
Resolution: Make sustainability – financial, health, environmental, all layers of sustainability – a central theme in your restaurant’s operations.

Action: Consumers increasingly care about sustainability so share your efforts to reduce food waste, use local ingredients and eliminate plastic and staff need to be cared for and nurtured, paid well and acknowledged, which helps staff retention and a content work environment.

Leverage User-Generated Content (UGC)
Resolution: Encourage customers to share their dining experiences.

Action: Ask your customers to tag your restaurant on social media. UGC builds credibility; when your customers share their love for your restaurant, it acts as authentic, free promotion and who doesn’t love that!

Prioritize Health and Safety Communication

Resolution: Continue to prioritise transparency around health and safety measures for your business.
Action: Post-pandemic, many customers care about hygiene and safety. Regularly update your policies and ensure customers feel safe dining with you, reinforcing trust and ensuring they return.

Highlight Your Team
Resolution: Highlight the talent and dedication of your team in your PR materials.

Action: Talking about and sharing the stories of the passion and hard work of your chefs, FOH staff and other staff members creates a deeper connection with your audience. Customers like to support businesses that value their employees (it’s that simple).

Foster Deeper Engagement:
Resolution: Nurture connections with your customers.         Action: In the hospitality world, it’s not just about cooking good food and serving people well —it’s about fostering real, meaningful connections.   Strive to create more interactive and engaging narratives with your customers through follow ups, storytelling and consistency in execution of product.

All these elements add to a strong business and narrative which gets you media ready.
