The Hip Hopper is a dish we named after co-founder Hiran Kroon. It’s one of our most delicious but also embodies a part of us and has a story.
There are two dishes that come to mind.
Coconut Sambol – made with love and care. It can be found on many of our dishes and added to any dish as a side, but can also be taken home and added to salads and toasties.
Eggplant relish – we love to call it ‘liquid gold’ is a labour of love to make and it never misses when you taste it. It’s an instant classic to people who haven’t had it before and a favourite to those who have.
Our messy Sri Lankan breakfast is always a crowd favourite for anyone who stays over. It began with using the leftovers in our fridge and actually became our first menu item in the Lankan Tucker cafe over eight years ago.
Ultimately, take some roti, some kick-ass chicken curry or fish curry (if you can’t make it, then buy it from our LT at Home range!), a poached egg and some coconut sambol.
Layer it on the plate and you have yourself the most messy and delicious Sri Lankan breakfast!
Turnip Media recognises the Wurundjeri as traditional owners of the land on which we live and work.
We pay respect to their elders, past, present and emerging.
