New Year’s Resolutions too tricky?
What about All Year Resolutions instead…
Do you stick to New Year’s resolutions or get to January 5 and forget about them?
At Turnip, we like to think of them as All Year Resolutions. We start the year ahead (after some time off) to discuss and reset, share dreams, plans, hopes and put them into practice when the time is right for each one of them. Some short-term, some down the track.
So, what are your PR All Year Resolutions?
What are you going to tell your audience and customers? How are you going to share your messages; to whom and when?
This can be a great way to set a positive, forward-thinking tone for the upcoming year. Public Relations (PR) strategies can play a key role in driving awareness, engagement, and customer loyalty.
In this two-part series, here’s part one of some PR-focused All Year Resolutions for your hospitality business:
1. Enhance Your Brand Storytelling and get Media ready.
• Resolution: Craft a compelling, authentic brand story that resonates with your target audience.
• Action: Work on defining what sets your business apart and share this narrative across your website and social media. Where Turnip comes in is that we can work with you on developing a dynamic press kit. Your story could include the history of your venue, sustainability efforts or community engagement. What makes your business stand out – be sure you know before you go to media.
2. Strengthen Media Relationships
• Resolution: Build and nurture relationships with key local, regional, and industry-specific media outlets.
• Action: This is where Turnip can help…Reach out to journalists, bloggers, and influencers in the hospitality industry to introduce your business and invite them for press visits, interviews, or press releases. Consistent communication will keep your business top of mind for future coverage.
3. Leverage Social Media for Real-Time Engagement
• Resolution: Increase engagement on social media platforms with interactive and timely content.
• Action: Another area Turnip can help. It’s vital to regularly update your social media with behind-the-scenes content, customer testimonials, and special events.
4. Create Memorable Experiences for Influencers and Bloggers
• Resolution: Collaborate with influencers to create buzz about your hospitality offerings.
• Action: Invite relevant local influencers, travel bloggers, or lifestyle content creators to experience your venue and share their experience with their followers. Make sure the experience is personalized and shareable. Encourage them to create content around it and highlight any particular angles you wanted told to their followers (hours, events, specials).
5 . Host and Publicize Community Events
• Resolution: Strengthen your local community ties by hosting events and supporting local causes.
• Action: Sponsor or host charity events, cooking classes, wine tastings, or other community-building activities. Use these events to gain press coverage and increase goodwill. Highlight your community involvement in press releases and on social media.
By committing to these PR New Year’s resolutions, your hospitality business can not only improve its public image but also create stronger connections with customers and the broader community. Just be sure to track progress and adjust as needed to ensure you’re getting the most out of your PR efforts throughout the year! Turnip is happy to chat through any of these resolutions with you.
